Your Ultimate Guide to Nutrient-Dense, Flavor-Packed Meals!

If you're anything like us, you know that hitting your goals isn't just about crushing workouts—it's about what you put on your plate. As a personal trainer here at Optimise Personal Training (OPT) in Hong Kong, I've spent years fine-tuning nutrition plans that deliver real results without the hassle or bland taste. And today, I'm thrilled to give you a sneak peek at something I've poured my heart (and a lot of kitchen time) into: Vic's Cookbook!

That's right—my brand-new digital cookbook is dropping very soon, and it's designed to make meal prep effortless, delicious, and perfectly aligned with your training needs. Whether you're bulking, cutting, or just trying to stay consistent on those busy days, these recipes are calorie-controlled, macro-balanced, and bursting with flavour. No more sacrificing taste for macros—think high-protein breakfasts that fuel your morning grind, satisfying lunches that keep you full till dinner, carb-smart dinners for recovery, and guilt-free desserts that satisfy your sweet tooth.

Why Vic's Cookbook? Fuelling Your Fitness Journey the Smart Way

I created this cookbook because I get it: Life in HK moves fast. Between long work hours, traffic jams, and back-to-back sessions, who has time for complicated recipes? That's why every dish here clocks in under 45 minutes (most are 15-20!), uses simple ingredients you can grab from your local wet market or Wellcome, and hits that sweet spot of ~300-350 kcal per serving with 30g+ protein.

Packed with 20 original recipes across four sections—Breakfast, Lunches, Dinners (low to high carb), and Desserts—it's your go-to for variety without the guesswork. Each recipe includes:

  • Easy-to-follow instructions with step-by-step photos (coming in the full launch!).

  • Precise macros so you can plug them straight into MyFitnessPal.

  • Dietary tags like Vegan, Vegetarian, or High-Protein for all preferences.

  • Pro tips from my training experience to tweak for your goals.

Whether you're prepping for a leg day feast or a rest-day recharge, these meals support muscle recovery, sustained energy, and overall well-being. And the best part? They're tasty—no boring chicken and rice here!

Sneak Peek: Recipes That'll Have You Hooked

To whet your appetite, here's a taste of what's inside. I've handpicked one from each section to show the diversity— from quick vegan wins to indulgent-yet-smart treats.

Breakfast: Smashed Patty with Avocado

Kick off your day with this smash burger-inspired powerhouse. Juicy lean beef patty smashed crispy, topped with creamy avocado slices and a sunny-side-up egg. It's like fast food, but fitness-approved.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes

  • Macros (per serving): 316 kcal | 33g Protein | 5g Carbs | 20g Fat

  • Victor's Tip: Perfect post-fast for that protein hit without the carbs.

Lunches: Vietnamese Summer Rolls

Light, fresh, and portable—these shrimp-packed rolls are a game-changer for office days. Crisp veggies, herbs, and a zesty PB2 dipping sauce make them irresistible.

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes

  • Macros (per serving): 314 kcal | 38g Protein | 10g Carbs | 14g Fat

  • Victor's Tip: Double the batch for meal prep; they hold up great in the fridge.

Dinners: Burrito Bowl (Low to High Carb Option)

Build-your-own vibes with seasoned lean beef, cauliflower rice (or brown rice for carb-up days), black beans, salsa, and a dollop of Greek yogurt "sour cream." Mexican flavours, macro mastery.

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes

  • Macros (per serving): 325 kcal | 38g Protein | 30g Carbs | 6g Fat

  • Victor's Tip: Swap cauli rice for potatoes if you're chasing hypertrophy.

Desserts: Anabolic Chocolate Mousse Cake

Who says clean eating can't be decadent? This no-bake wonder uses Greek yogurt and cocoa for a rich, fudgy texture that sets in the fridge—pure bliss after a tough session.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes | Set Time: 3 hours

  • Macros (per serving): 319 kcal | 45g Protein | 20g Carbs | 8g Fat

  • Victor's Tip: Portion it out for weekly treats; it freezes like a dream.

These are just the highlights—imagine flipping through all 20 with full-colour photos, shopping lists, and scaling guides. From Cinnamon Protein Oats for cozy mornings to Steak & Cucumber Salad Don for that umami fix, there's something for every craving.
